Yuting’s Brushy Creek outdoor maternity photos left me absolutely breathless! This mom, her beautiful family, and nature were showing up in full force for this photo. Spring photos are usually the best times to take wildflower photos, so if your baby is due in the spring, you’re super lucky to have one of Texas’ most stunning natural backdrops. This maternity session is proof that if you play your cards right, the outdoors can make a very pretty backdrop.
Yuting’s Brushy Creek Maternity Photos
The mom of the hour in this photo session is Yuting. She and her family came to Hello Photography looking for spring Bluebonnet maternity photos. After all, if you live in Texas and you’re due in spring, it’s like a rite of passage to get your photo taken with our stunning state flower!
Unfortunately, the bluebonnets came super early this year and we had to reschedule because of rain and severe cold weather. Yuting may have missed out on wild Texas Bluebonnets in Brushy Creek Park. Luckily for her, we had other amazing flowers to work with, instead!
I found a field of wildflowers in a drainage ditch up the road from my house! The grass was short, which made it easy to walk through and safe from little critters. As you can see, the flowers were beautiful! We paired a few different outfit changes with this wildflower field so that we could capture a full range of colors – though, this white one was a favorite.
The red maternity gown went really well with the sunset, which was a spectacular show of reds, purples, pinks, and blues. Kind of like Texas wildflowers!
Yuting also wore the beloved rainbow gown from my client closet. Sometimes, clients choose this gown because they want to pay a tribute to a rainbow pregnancy. Others choose it because it’s so pretty and fun to work with. Whatever her reason for choosing the rainbow maternity gown, it looked gorgeous against this setting Texas sky!
Yuting came to the photo session with her family (such a beautiful family!) Her little guy was so expressive in photos. It’s pretty clear he is going to be a great big brother — so much energy, a big personality, but still able to take directions, as you can see here!
He was too cute. I especially love the shot of him sniffing the flower from the Brushy Creek wildflower patch in the photo montage below. His poses kind of brought a whole other mood to the photo shoot. Whereas Yuting’s solo photos were so regal, and the photos with her husband alone were very romantic, the photos with their son really showcased how much of a fun family they were.
Brushy creek brought almost all of the elements to make this photo session a beautiful one. A fairy-tale lighting situation, so many beautiful flowers, and the stunning scenery you’d expect from hill country. But Yuting and her family were really what made this session so special. They were such a loving family — it was hard not to capture that beauty in every single photo.
