Meet Jen, the Artist Behind the Lens

I didn’t start this work because I dreamed of being a photographer. I started it because I lost my daughter, Ruby.

That kind of grief shifts everything. It changed how I looked at motherhood, memory, and time. It made me want to freeze the moments I still had with my son. To make sure nothing slipped through the cracks.

In the years that followed, I built a business—one late night and early morning at a time. I was raising a child, rebuilding my life, and teaching myself how to tell stories through light and connection. Photography gave me purpose again. It gave me something to create when so much had been taken.

This wasn’t a side hustle. It wasn’t a hobby. It was survival. And eventually, it became art.

This experience shaped everything about how I approach sessions today. I understand the weight of these moments because I've lived both the joy and the heartbreak. That's why I've spent over ten years perfecting not just the technical side, but creating an environment where families feel completely at ease.

Working with everyone from professional athletes to media personalities, I've learned that regardless of someone's public life, these private family moments are sacred. My clients choose me because I know how to hold space for both celebration and vulnerability. I've photographed families during their highest highs and supported them through unexpected challenges.

The business I built isn't about volume - it's about relationships. I limit my sessions because each family deserves my complete attention and energy. This approach has earned recognition as Austin's top maternity and newborn photographer multiple years running, but more importantly, it's created lifelong connections with the families I serve.
