Modern Pregnancy Announcement Ideas for Austin Moms

Gen X, Millennials, and Gen Z may have different social media habits, but there is one thing they all love to post: pregnancy announcements. And who can blame them? It’s such an exciting time in a parent’s life. I remember how hyped I was when I found out I was pregnant with my son (now a pre-teen!) and how badly I wanted to share my secret when it was time. Today, it’s not uncommon to see creative ways to announce this big life step on Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok, and it’s natural to want to post your pregnancy pics, too. If you’re looking for timeless, modern pregnancy announcement ideas, stick around and I’ll show you some of what my clients and I have done in the past.

Pick a Theme That Feels Like ‘You’

It can be easy to get swept up in trends when others post cute pregnancy announcement photos. However, I always recommend thinking about the theme of your pregnancy announcement and finding one that feels like you.

The problem for some is the understanding we all grow and change, and the trends we feel excited about right now might not be a trend they appreciate in the future.

So, if you are going to hop aboard the trendy pregnancy announcement train, just make sure to have a good think about it. But if you’re stuck on how to tell the world about your next big milestone, I can help!

Modern Pregnancy Announcement Ideas At Hello Photography

One of the services I promise my clients is help planning their photo session. As a professional, I definitely don’t expect you to reinvent the wheel, and any photographer worth their salt knows how to make your pregnancy announcement session a memorable, personal, and timeless session.

During your modern pregnancy announcement session, we spend time getting to know you, and then twenty minutes of joy in the studio snapping tender moments with you and your partner (we also do solo pregnancy announcements!)

The photos we take together will have a storytelling quality to them. We’re not writing a novel here, but we are trying to get your word out and showcase your personalities. In modern pregnancy announcement photos like these, I’ll often ask clients to wear a neutral color. This not only helps with contrast on set, but it gives the session a timeless feeling.

Bringing Out The Personal In Modern Pregnancy Announcement

It’s very important to me that my clients feel as though this session is completely theirs. Pregnancy announcements are unique opportunities. Even though these modern pregnancy announcement sessions are only 20 minutes each, these 20 minutes should feel natural and special.

I wanted to showcase this couple when talking about how to make modern pregnancy announcements personal for two reasons. The first, they both used the same set for their announcement photos, and look at how different they came out!

The couple above was bringing a very classic, Audrey Hepburn sort of vibe. Meanwhile, the couple below brought a little more of a boho vibe.

But despite the neutral outfits, the similar background, and the same set, these couples’ pregnancy announcements have completely different feels to them. The reason? They are completely different people! My aim is always to tell your family’s unique story.

A Lot of Laughter and Love

A modern pregnancy announcement doesn’t have to be serious, either. It can be a lot of fun. These two couples did a lot of laughing on the set, and it was a delight to work with them. Their joy was infectious.

I love how much fun this couple had with their photos. He was so convinced to make her laugh. It worked! I also laughed — who can keep a straight face with a guy showcasing his sympathy bump?

Meanwhile, this couple was just reveling in each other’s happiness. I love this picture of these two — dad is so excited to be showing off their new baby, and mom is overwhelmed with happiness. Their “coming soon” onesie was a personal touch that made their session even more special.

Of course, what really made these two sessions special, in my opinion, was the amount of love in the room.
