Brushy Creek Sports Park is one of my favorite locations in the Cedar Park area for a lot of different types of sessions. I really love it for maternity sessions because there is a lot of variety just a very short distance from the parking lot for my #hellomommas that are having a hard time getting around or are very close to their due date.
We had initially decided on a section of Bull Creek for this maternity session but we had to reschedule a few times due to rain which pushed us closer to her due date than I’m comfortable with for that location. It’s beautiful but it’s a pretty decent walk and I’d rather play it safe than risk her going into labor in the middle of the woods. So, we decided on Brushy Creek Sports Park so we could still get some creek shots in.
When we were planning her maternity session she had two specific requests. 1) She wanted to look like a butterfly. I am a huge fan of creating a flowing effect with the fabric of some of these maternity gowns but I’ve never specifically turned someone into a butterfly. Challenge accepted! This was a fun look to create and a little help from her friend throwing the fabric in the air we were able to get the look she wanted and created a really stunning image of her that she’s going to cherish forever.
Here are a few more with this beautiful dress…
This next maternity picture is my favorite from the session. I really think this one should be printed and hung on the wall. Her little girl will love this photo forever and will probably want to recreate it when she has her own children someday.
Her second request was to wear the rainbow train that I have available in my client closet. Ya’ll… this dress is a stunner and DID.NOT.DISAPPOINT…
This dress needs a LOT of space because it is huge! Luckily, Brushy Creek Sports Park has some fantastic open spaces that were perfect for this. I absolutely loved that all that rain that kept rescheduling our session brought out all of these simple yellow flowers!
We finished up our session down at the creek. This is my FAVORITE spot in the park. It’s also one of the more popular areas for other photographers and sometimes you just have to wait your turn to get your photos in. Luckily, most of the photographers that shoot at this park know that it is a popular spot and they move their sessions through pretty quickly and don’t camp out in the same spot for over an hour…
Check out these beauties…
