AUSTIN MATERNITY PHOTOGRAPHER

MATERNITY PHOTOS WITH ACTUALLY GOOD LIGHTING

Most Austin maternity photographers blast you with flat, even light and call it a day. I use shadows. The result? Photos that have depth, emotion, and don't look like every other maternity session you've seen on Instagram

I'm Jen, and I've been an Austin maternity photographer for over ten years. My Cedar Park studio is set up specifically for maternity and newborn work—the lighting, the wardrobe, the whole experience is designed around making this easy for you.

Here's what you actually get: gorgeous images that look like art, not just documentation. Real moments between you and your partner, not just posed hands-on-belly shots. And an experience where your husband doesn't want to die of boredom.

Why Choose Me as Your Austin Maternity Photographer?

the lighting actually matters

I spent years perfecting studio lighting techniques that most maternity photographers skip because they're harder to execute. The difference is dramatic shadows that sculpt your body, highlight your bump, and create images with real visual impact.

You'll see it immediately in the black and white images—they have weight and emotion that flat, evenly-lit photos just can't match. This isn't about filters or editing tricks. It's about understanding how light falls on the pregnant body and using that to create something beautiful.

a wardrobe that actually works

As an Austin maternity photographer, I've built the most extensive client wardrobe in the area. Over 100 gowns designed to fit a variety of shapes and sizes. Not cheap maternity dresses—quality, couture pieces in colors and fabrics that photograph well under professional lighting. Everything is form-fitting or flowing in the right places, and I know exactly which styles work best for different body types at various stages of pregnancy.

You don't bring anything except yourself. I handle your styling completely. For partners and children, I will provide detailed outfit inspiration boards with coordinating colors and styles that complement your chosen looks. This way everything looks intentional and cohesive without the guesswork.

connection over cheese

Yes, we'll get some classic maternity poses because you'll want those. But the images you'll actually love are the ones where you're connecting with your partner, laughing at something he said, or having a quiet moment thinking about becoming parents.

I direct you through poses that feel natural, not performative. Your husband won't hate being there because I keep things moving and make it easy for him to look good without feeling awkward.

Working With Your Austin Pregnancy Photographer

timing & booking

As your Austin maternity photographer, I recommend booking between 30-35 weeks of pregnancy. Earlier and your bump might not be prominent enough. Later and you might be too uncomfortable to enjoy the session.

Sessions take place in my Cedar Park studio, about 20 minutes from downtown Austin. Easy parking, comfortable temperature, everything we need is here.

Your Long-Term Austin family photographer

This maternity session is just the beginning. My favorite clients are the ones who come back for newborn photos, then milestone sessions, then family portraits, and eventually maternity photos for baby number two.

I get to watch families grow and kids develop personalities. The trust and comfort level that builds over multiple sessions shows in the images—everyone relaxes because they know what to expect from me as their Austin family photographer.

what happens next

After booking your maternity photography session, we'll have a quick planning call to discuss styling and any specific shots you want. I'll send over coordinating outfit inspiration for your partner so everything looks cohesive. The session itself is relaxed—I handle the technical stuff, you focus on enjoying the experience.

You'll see previews within 48 hours and receive your final edited gallery within 7 to 10 days. All images come in both color and black & white versions, high-resolution and yours to print wherever you want.

When you book maternity + newborn together, you get priority booking for all future sessions. As your family grows, I'm here to document it

She has an incredible talent for capturing real, heartfelt moments without anything ever feeling awkward or forced. Her warm energy helped us relax and enjoy every minute, and the photos… WOW. We are obsessed! Every image is so beautifully edited; timeless and full of emotion. You can truly see how much heart and care she puts into every part of her process.
- Hannah

Jen was such an amazing photographer to work with! Her communication, professionalism, and overall vibe was everything we could have asked for. As a couple who is not the most photogenic, and definitely awkward in front of the camera, Jen worked her magic and our photos came out incredible. We would work with her again in a heartbeat!
- Catherine

I’m absolutely overjoyed with the way Jen captured my very special journey. Her presence was pleasant and very welcoming while her skills with the camera is nothing more than exceptional! I highly recommend her if you want lasting memories that will last a lifetime!!
