Choosing the right newborn photographer is a big deal. This isn’t just about cute outfits and sleepy poses. This is about preserving one of the most important chapters in your family’s story, and you want someone who knows how to handle every single part of it with confidence and skill. That’s where I come in.
I’ve been photographing newborns for over a decade. I’ve trained extensively in newborn safety, posing, and lighting. I’ve wrapped hundreds of babies, soothed countless fussy newborns, and delivered thousands of images that made moms cry (in the good way). This work is personal to me. And in my studio, you can expect a calm, professional, luxury experience from start to finish.
There are a lot of ways to photograph a newborn. But if you’re looking for something more polished than iPhone snaps and more elevated than lifestyle shots in your bedroom, studio photography is it. Here’s why:
Controlled lighting means soft, flattering skin tones and zero distractions.
Perfect posing every time, whether baby is swaddled or in the classic froggy pose.
Comfortable setups with white noise, warm temps, and plenty of space for you to relax.
Zero cleanup for you. No laundry piles, no furniture rearranging, no stressing.
And when you’re spending this kind of money on photography, you want it done right. That’s why I keep everything in-house – the lighting, props, wraps, backdrops, even professional-quality print products.
There’s a reason so many Austin families come back to me, baby after baby. It’s not just the photos (although those are pretty damn good too). It’s the way I care for your newborn.
I never force a pose.
I always spot the baby, even during composites.
I use safe wrapping techniques and monitor temperature constantly.
I’m trained in newborn physiology, and I know what to look for if baby is showing signs of discomfort.
You wouldn’t hand your one-week-old to just anyone. This is a specialized service, and you need someone who’s both an artist and a professional.
Here’s how it works:
Pre-session: Once you book, I’ll reserve your due date and send over a full prep guide. You’ll tell me what you love (neutral tones, dramatic black and whites, minimalist vs styled) and I’ll plan the session accordingly.
Session day: You’ll arrive at my studio, I’ll take your baby into my expert hands, and you can sit back and chill. Coffee? Snacks? Wi-Fi? Yep, all that.
During the shoot: I photograph baby solo first, then add in parent and sibling shots if you want them. The whole session takes about 2-4 hours depending on baby’s mood and how many setups we do.
Afterwards: You’ll receive a proofing gallery to select your favorite images. Then I hand edit each one with my signature style and deliver both color and black and white versions.
Every photographer has a style. Mine is modern, bold, and clean. I lean into shadows. I love contrast. And I know how to make newborn skin glow without it looking over-retouched.
You won’t find cheesy props or overly saturated colors here. I’m all about keeping things timeless, the kind of images that look just as stunning on your walls in 20 years as they do today.
Whether it’s a tight black and white shot of baby’s eyelashes or a full setup with your whole family, the focus is always on connection, detail, and storytelling.
Let’s talk options.
I’ve curated a collection of soft knits, textured wraps, and neutral backdrops that photograph beautifully. I also offer headbands, bonnets, and minimalist props. Just enough to style the image without stealing the show from your baby.
Bonus: I’ve got dresses and simple wardrobe options for moms and siblings too. If you didn’t sleep last night and feel like you haven’t brushed your hair in a week, you’re in the right place. I’ll pose you, style you, and make sure you look like the beautiful, glowing powerhouse that you are.

Best time to book? During your second trimester. I typically photograph babies between 5–21 days old, so planning ahead gives us time to prep and reserve your spot on the calendar.
Worried you’ll forget? I’ll track your due date and follow up once baby arrives. All you need to do is send me a text when you’re home from the hospital.
What if baby comes early or late? Doesn’t matter. I only take a limited number of newborns each month for this reason. I’ll adjust your session date as needed.
Investment? Packages start at $850 and include a set number of fully retouched images. You can always add more, and professional prints are available too.
This isn’t my side hustle. This is what I do.
If you’re looking for a photographer who can deliver high-end newborn portraits, handle your baby with confidence, and make you feel taken care of every step of the way, let’s talk.
I’d be honored to photograph your newborn and create artwork you’ll treasure forever.
