Olivia’s mom reached out to me about scheduling a milestone photoshoot for her daughter. She had always planned on doing a one-year birthday session but she’s a busy mom and time just got away from her. She said before she knew it her daughter was already going to be 18 months old!
During the planning process, we talked about what kind of a session she had in mind. She told me she had wanted something vintage-inspired and off we went. I sent over some photos of different backdrop options I had, some busier than others. She opted for this fantastic barn wood setup that I have that has quickly become a favorite of mine for all kinds of sessions.
She had this old kid’s chair that had belonged to her grandmother that she wanted to incorporate. It was white with peeling paint and had been well-loved over the years. She also found this ivory lace dress to complete the vintage look. It was PERFECT. It also had this super sweet plum flower on it that was a wonderful compliment to this milestone session.
Every kid comes with their own unique personality and challenges. We spent some time at the beginning of the session warming up to each other and getting used to my studio space. Patience is key during these sessions and it’s so important to take your time. Let’s be honest- we are all on their time anyways! hahaha
We played lots of “Baby Shark” and soon her parents were showing off their dance moves. We were able to get Olivia up onto the set with some bubbles which were a hit!
I can’t decide if her incredible rosy cheeks or her big brown eyes were my favorite. She was such a sweetheart and I couldn’t resist grabbing a pic of her cuddling with her dad.
I really loved the way this session came out and all of the little vintage details made this absolutely perfect!
Her mom loved this session so much, she even wrote me a sweet Google review! “Jen is patient, loving, fun, and great! I am in love with her work and the pictures she captured of my busy toddler! She is flexible with scheduling and turned in pictures quick! Thank you Jen!” It was so sweet fo her to write that!
