Let me guess.
I've photographed 500+ newborns and 1,000+ families in Austin, Cedar Park, Round Rock, and Leander. Most of them found me on Google, read my website, saw my pricing, and booked. That's really it.
No ads. No referral program, no "leave a review and get a free print," no bugging anyone. I ask once and I move on. About 20% of my bookings are referrals anyway, and every one of them is real because nobody got paid to say it.
I built my own website. I did my own SEO. I have never paid a developer or an agency. I used to be a parole officer, so I promise you don't need a tech background for this.
And I have never had a commercial studio. Eleven years, 500 newborns, 1,000 families, all out of my house. My first studio was a spare bedroom so small I shot maternity sessions standing inside the closet. You don't need the lease. You need the system.
What I actually do
The Booked-Out Studio is that system, written down, with every template I use.
Your inquiries come in a wave every time you post, and then nothing for two weeks. So you post more. You try Reels. You put $200 into an ad and get 3 messages from people who want "something quick, like $150?"
Meanwhile some photographer across town is booked out 3 months and barely posts. You've looked at her page. You've wondered what she's doing.
Hi. It's me. And it's a lot less magical than you think.
What this is not
It's not a packet that says "make sure your images have alt text" and leaves you to figure out where that box is. I've bought those. Every "do this" in here has a "here's where you click" under it, with what the screen looks like, what to type, and how to know it worked. Screenshots from my actual accounts.
Written for Showit and WordPress because that's what I use and I'm not going to teach you a platform I've never logged into. The rules work anywhere. The click-by-click is Showit and WordPress.
What's inside (81-page PDF plus editable templates)
Module 1: The Clear Website. Seven pages. What goes on each one, why "contact me for pricing" is costing you bookings, and a 60-minute audit that will make you a little mad at your current site. Plus the phone test I still run every time I touch a page.
Module 2: Google Does the Selling. My SEO system for people who break out in hives at the word "SEO." Every term translated into English first. Then 12 click-by-click walkthroughs: Search Console, Analytics, your Google Business Profile, headings and SEO settings on Showit, the Yoast form on WordPress, image naming, finding your keywords for free, and the one piece of code you'll ever paste. Plus exactly how I use Claude to write blog posts that still sound like me, prompts included. And the best advice I ever got, which is get out of the mom groups.
Module 3: The Experience That Refers Itself. Gowns. Hair and makeup. The location list. How I run a studio out of my house that clients call "so cozy" and "high-end" in the same breath. Why I have families on their third and fourth babies with me, and how I price for people who keep coming back. My real questionnaires and prep guides, field by field.
Module 4: The Automations You're Missing. A full 17-email HoneyBook sequence from inquiry to one-year check-in, written to sound like a person and not a CRM having a stroke. Plus my four Pic-Time automations with my real settings and my real results, including the one that got 211 views and zero orders, the one I found sitting in Draft, and exactly what I changed. Screenshots included.
Bonus: The Human Voice Fix. Half of you are using AI to write client emails now. Your clients can tell. I use it too, and then I fix it, and nobody can tell. This is how. Before-and-afters included.
Templates, all editable Word files. The 47-point site audit. The schema code. The Pic-Time settings sheet. The 30-day plan. The full email swipe file. Both questionnaires with prep guides.
This is for you if
You want an Instagram hack. There's nothing in here about hooks or trending audio. Or you refuse to put pricing on your website. That's step one. If you won't do it, save your money.
You shoot maternity, newborn, family, or milestones, you're a few years in, and you're over the feast-or-famine thing. You'd rather build one system that runs than feed the algorithm three times a day forever. Someone told you to "hire an SEO person" and you laughed, because $2,000 a month.
This is not for you if
Stop posting and hoping.
Build the thing that books for you.
