Maternity Photos: Kelli’s Third Pregnancy | Hello Photography

I’m of the firm belief that all maternity photos are unique, whether they’re for the first or tenth baby. They each mark a special time in family history. Every pregnancy will feel different, look different, and be memorable for different reasons.

Even more importantly? Moms deserve maternity photoshoots! It gives them time to focus on themselves and how they feel — after all, maternity photos are supposed to be all about moms. This instance also gave this mom the chance to focus on one-on-one time with her soon-to-be-born baby. She is already a mom to two beautiful little girls (Lydia & Noelle), and these photos document the waiting period for their newborn son.

Meet Kelli & The Family

Kelli showed up for her maternity photos with her whole family in tow. I love taking solo pictures of my clients for their maternity portfolios, but it is also a treat to include family in the shots. Kelli’s husband Adam was a big help, both posing for photos with Kelli and helping with some of the rainbow maternity gown train shots. Kelli’s girls, Lydia and Noelle, were also sweet as can be. They wore white dresses to the photoshoot, which complimented Kelli’s white maternity gown beautifully.

Kelli stole the show in these pictures. It’s hard to tell just from the picture, but Kelli’s session was the day before the first of the wacky 2021 Texas weather this past spring. In other words, it was absolutely freezing. Kelli was a champion about the photoshoot and doesn’t look cold at all in these maternity portraits.

Maternity Photos At Brushy Creek Sports Park

One of my favorite spots to get gorgeous photos of soon-to-be moms is Brushy Creek Sports Park. (I even have an entire blog post dedicated to the park!) It’s just rural enough that it can look like an enchanted forest in the right light. With an impending “winter” storm approaching in these photos, the mist and slight grey hue add to the serenity of the pictures. While it took its toll on the state, the Snowpocalypse of 2021 made for some really stunning high-end maternity photography in Austin and the surrounding areas.

Kelli picked two different maternity gowns for her photo session. The blue gown added a nice element to the color photos, in particular. It helped her stand out from the winter-stricken background of the park, not to mention complimenting her complexion.

The white gown was perfect for the black and white maternity photos I ended up taking. While the blue helped her stand out in the color photos, the white brought an extra element of contrast to the black and white photos. It was also the perfect complement to the rainbow train, which Kelli seemed to love.

Family Maternity Photos: Including The Kids & Hubby

Kelli wasn’t the only fashionable family member at the photoshoot. Her husband, Adam, sported this flashy dress vest and blue tie to match Kelli’s outfits. They looked naturally in love in all these photos. As a photographer, I do a bit of direction to create the perfect shot. But the love that shines through couples’ photos, like these, is genuine and comes without direction.

Funny enough, I had met Kelli and her girls before this photoshoot (at a different photoshoot for another client), so I was happy to include them in this one. The shot of the whole family holding mom’s baby bump is one of my favorites. It’s so cute — and at the time, I was sure from this photo that they were itching to meet their new baby brother.

This is an older maternity photo session, so I’m pleased to report that the little guy hiding behind Kelli’s baby bump is here and cute as can be. His name is Malachi, and even though he is their first son — he fits right in with his beautiful family.

But no one was questioning baby Malachi’s welcome arrival! It’s clear to see his family already loved him before they even met him.

Is it almost the end of summer already? Time has gone by far too fast in 2021, and if your due date is in the next few weeks, now is the time to book your maternity photoshoot at Hello Photography before my planner fills up.

Let’s chat about maternity photos, newborn sessions, and more. Looking forward to meeting you!
