I’ve known Rebecca longer than I’ve been doing Austin maternity photos. She was one of Deacon’s infant teachers at daycare and she was fabulous with him. She is also an incredible digital illustrator, photographer, and graphic designer. I was so excited for her when I learned that she was pregnant because I know she’s going to be an amazing mom! I also couldn’t wait to get her in front of my camera!
You should know that my job isn’t just about creating incredible photos for you. I really work hard to make sure you FEEL just as awesome and empowered during your session as you do when you see your final photos. This session is all about you and your amazing body and the life you are creating inside of it. This is the time to show off all of that power and beauty that you have you’re going to want to look back and remember this time of your life.
I think I’ve mentioned it before but I never had maternity photos done when I was pregnant with Deacon. I think there are only 3 photos of me with a baby bump and that is one of my life’s biggest regrets. When your only child looks at you and says, “but mom, where are the pictures of you when I was in your belly?” That one hits hard. So… take my advice and just take the photos. Hang them on the wall, show them to your children, hang them in their nursery. This is an important moment in your life and trust me, they are going to ask you all about it!
Back to Rebecca… how special is this photo? The sun rays coming through the trees and her admiring her beautiful daughter whom she’ll meet in just a few weeks. It’s breathtaking!
I cannot get over how beautiful these came out. She brought one of her own dresses for the session but I also had this black lace dress that I thought would be perfect for her. And she nailed it!
The light coming through the trees in this next set made my photographer heart so very happy. I love how the vines wrap around those trees and the water is a blueish-green color. It is absolutely spectacular. I have shot at this location many, many times before but haven’t done much in the morning hours. I have to say it’s a win for me and during the pandemic when everybody is heading out to the creeks to cool off- this spot is super quiet and pretty free of people during the morning hours.
I love this sexy dress she brought along. I know she loves fashion and this offered a classy, sexy, fun spin to this outdoor session.
When we first discussed her maternity session she told me she had this vision of being surrounded by butterflies and we decided her session would be done in the water. She also wanted to feel sexy, empowered, and seen during her session. I’m pretty sure we accomplished all of that!

This heart-shaped splash was a happy accident at the end of her session. She made a special request for Deacon to join us since she hadn’t seen him in years so I let him swim around while we were taking pictures. We tried something new here and I’m pretty excited about how it came out! Maybe I’ll be hiring a new assistant in the future…
